African Safari Party "Old World"

Well, here it is...
African Safari Party
"Old World"
*This is a party on a budget, so I will list the cost before each image.

My boy just turned 9, so we celebrated with an African Safari Party!  All things "old world" safari...

His dream is to one day hunt in Africa----hence our back drop of African animals, and "Hunt Africa" sign done in twigs.

Total cost for backdrop$3.89 ---$2.00(safari calendar,) .50cents (black poster board,) .89cents(grass,) and about .50cents worth of twine.  All items purchased at Michaels
Sticks from the back yard. ; )

Other table items for a "party on a budget," total:  $24.57 ---Image at the end will show what I paid for each item.  The rest of the items were house hold items and craft projects we made.

Dessert Table...

In full safari gear! : )

Candy and desserts included:  Gator Gumballs
Mamba Snakes, Lawler's Cheesecake Squares, Zebra Pops
Also:  Somalia Bananas, Sweet African Dates and "Kudu Droppings" a.k.a. Raisinettes.

We made the spears out of recycled paper towel rolls, peacock feathers and black card stock.

Cake!!!  By me Samantha's Sweets www.samantha-sweets.com
-A two tier, painted fondant cake with African animals and baobab tree cake topper.
I hand painted on the fondant, with edible coloring, a scene from the Serengeti with my son's favorite African animals!

Favor Table...
Jenny said to use that vintage trunk end table!  So I said, "ok."  She taught me that furniture makes a great party!
Favors by me:  African maps, rifle, stickers and a pencil.
Lion's jaws Jaw Breakers, Little Debbie Zebra Cakes, Somalian banana marshmallows and safari trail mix, complete the prize/favor table.
Polka Dot Market's Chevron bags and Piggy Bank Partie's tags, make a wonderful treat bag to hid some adorable mini Ty Beenie Babies--all African animals of course.
The banner is part of the Zoo Kroo collection of party printables from Piggy Bank Parties.
I made the African torn paper map to complete the look.

The party was a great success!
